From Brett
A page like this with many headings is most efficiently viewed with a tool like HeadingsMap (esp. after hiding the Table of contents). (The Table of Contents already allows this, but more obtrusively.)

Efficiency/organization
- Consider Ubiquity commands for better productivity
Current Projects
TEI
- Note: Encoding TEI in RDFa (including in XHTML or HTML5), while possible and perhaps more advantageous for tool use than non-standard microformats is still ugly for XQuery (though good for SPARQL apparently), yet doable with XSL
- Blog/wiki re: HTML5 wishlist, esp. replicate XUL/overlays/shared files-dirs/etc.
- <quote/> cit?
- XSL help for project?
- IELTS/METS/HTML5+ file packages
- Make own METS-based manfiest and download/decompress/store/retrieve
- Data handling - XML + SQL, allow XQuery
- Make Badi with Baha'i content - side-by-side XPath, indexes/TEI/outlines, etc.
Baha'i content
- Adding Lights of Guidance to Bahai9.com (along with any useful forum compilations)
- Currently up to "Life after Death; the Soul" (and have already done some items at the end of the book too)
Planned Badi Browser Firefox extension
- Get stream functions into PHP.JS including Mozilla-specific ones (see HTTP_Access_Control and File I/O as well as HTTP context options and file_get_contents)
- Get zip functions into PHP.JS based on Mozilla-specific zip ones
- Access files, unzip, and store into database using METS
Chinese study
- Print, study, and refine flashcards with mnemonics
- Refine and sell mnemonics dictionary
- Distribute Badi for Chinese use (HTML 5 version?)
My blog
- Flesh out my blog with more articles during my C++ study (e.g, on relevance to JavaScript) and/or use knowledge with PHP.JS implementations of PHP source; also try to get a simple C++ Firefox extension going/learn something of Mozilla source
Secondary projects
XML
- Finish JS schematron validator
- start DTD parser in JS
- JS W3C Schema validator?
- XML GUI editor (can now integrate with DOMToString to work cross-browser)
- DOMToString (basically done (DOM3L&S, innerHTML/DOMParser XML-suitable substitute) but can update with jssaxparser updates)
JavaScript
- Install Jaxer?
PHP.JS
- output buffering to echo() and implement populating of <?php?> and <?_?> blocks (or <?=?> in HTML?--part of HTML DOM?).
- Add locator support (and use NamespaceSupport) to jssaxparser (Sax2); should then be able to fully implement PHP.JS XML parsing (except may perhaps need to add more obscure support for internal subset?)
- similar_text based on C source
- Stream functions (see Badi Browser above)
- Use SSJS reference within PHP.JS functions
- Publishing
- Finish error, etc.
- Documentation, demos, and tutorial (e.g., php_js global), using PHP.JS wiki (pending license change to MIT), etc.
Mozilla documentation
- Events and CSS DOM
File Browsing/Editing
- Column browser (also to adapt/adopt METS for site-maps (including leading externally, Gopher-like, including automated like Wiki category browsing!!), XLink linkbases, local file browsing/editing, XML browsing/editing, and file packages (see Badi Browser above); allow sticky notes interspersed, planning aid
Ideas
- bahai-library.com library code as a general-purpose document library hosting Joomla extension
- Get application/xhtml+xml for Wordpress (submit patch if new version doesn't); also ensure styling patches are applied for full validation and full separation of formatting from structure (including codecolorer/Geshi plugin); will need to define entities like raquo in internal doctype
- Any way to get command line into Firefox. Can use nsIProcess, nsIProcess2 (see also Running applications snippets) but that doesn't allow piping output to a file; recommend? Would be cool to make accessible as a Ubiquity command. Could be built upon for making SVN in Firefox. Also can make one for NsILocalFile::reveal.
- Ideas for or at http://fairsoftware.net/publicProjects.seam?cid=9519 ?
- Wikipedia ideas:
- Separate formatting fully and serve as application/xhtml+xml
- When editing subsections of a page, ensure the templates therein show up on the edit page! Very useful for Kiwi logs ((reverse of wiki) logs) (or Kiwis for short) like this one (thought of "wog" then found out that was a derogatory term; I guess "kiwi" is another ethnic term, but apparently not seen offensively, and it has of course the fruit meaning)
Baha'i
- Find way to get these OCR'd/typed: http://query.nytimes.com/search/sitesearch?query=abdul%20baha
- proofing Star of the West
- typing Visiting Baha'i Holy Places, Unrestrained as the Wind
- Waiting for permission: Power of Unity, DDBC, Non-Political Involvement
Firefox extensions
- Baha'i or other calendars in Lightning; public API?
- Incorporate functionality of all of the following, while allowing each to run custom JavaScript, adding new items, and ideally using the approach of ContextMenu Extensions in making simple variables available to JavaScript templates (e.g., clipboard contents) without need for complicated XPCOM calls, etc.
- Menu Editor (but allow adding)
- Keyconfig or KeySnail
- Organize Status Bar (but allow adding)
- Custom Buttons/Custom Buttons²
- Cutebuttons - Crystal SVG
- ContextMenu Extensions (without stability problems); see also context menu detection and features
- Ubiquity extensible via context menu?
HTML 5
- Suggestions
- Cross-domain databases (e.g., enable offline to be shared with different apps (e.g., Albert_Einstein), and updates can be incremental; less concern about blocked access in certain places)
- Local file and folder navigation (public folder); add to http://dev.w3.org/2006/webapi/FileUpload/publish/FileAPI.html#requirements ?
- DOMParser (would prefer DOM Level 3 L&S at least as well) to support XML and other documents
- document.contentType for detecting within-script (esp. within a library like PHP.JS) whether in text/html or application/xhtml+xml for the likes of document.createElementNS.
- Bug reports to browsers re: failing external entities support
Own site
- own GIT? (own VPN if ever get HK service)
- own email
To study
- Programming
- Baha'i
- Books: XQuery, RegExp
Generic notes
- This is for tidbits I want to mull over or remember
Lyrics
Here are some song lyrics I enjoy (mostly for their moral or spiritual message and force)
War and Peace
Probably the best lyrics on war ever, blaming ourselves for war rather than the easier (if more blameworthy) targets of leaders:
- Universal Soldier - Buffy Sainte-Marie] (I like the Glen Campbell version in the Folk Years set)
Adequately anguished concern about war and hypocrisy, and as above, concerned with human respect and not only legislation; also shakes up happy-go-lucky apathy:
Reminds me of Baha'u'llah's witnessing of a puppet show; knowing His message for peace and against fanaticism and the song's war and religious references makes listening to the song all the more powerful; a really rare present-day gem
- What Am I Doing Here? - Moody Blues (Maybe not the best, but good, sounds great, and hadn't discovered this song before)
Race
Purity/Futility of earthly love
Another song of such high caliber morally, in such contrast to our culture today:
- Mountains of Mourne - performed by Don McLean
- Love is Just a Four-Letter Word - Joan Baez, original by Bob Dylan
Backbiting/Criticism
Pain/Disability/Forlorn love
Mystical
Friendship
- Bird on a Wire - Leonard Cohen
- Dawning is the Day - Moody Blues
- When You're a Free Man - Moody Blues
- Don't Give Up - Peter Gabriel
Love
- The First Time Ever I Saw Your Face - Chad Mitchell Trio
- The Most Romantic Thing
- Tammy - Debbie Reynolds
- Can't Take My Eyes Off Of You - Frankie Valli
- When a Man Loves a Woman - Percy Sledge (Even more than the lyrics is the delivery (as with most good songs, I know))
- Lemon Tree - Trini Lopez
Children
The poor
- Orphans of Wealth - Don McLean
- The Boxer - Simon and Garfunkel (also immortal line of "a man hears what he wants to hear and disregards the rest")
